The rules for footiepicks are
MAIN LEAGUES:
You gain points from the teams you have picked in all the scottish league games that have been played.
You gain ten points for every one of your teams that wins a league game.
You gain five points for every one of your teams that draw in a league game.
You do not gain any points when the match is a cup game ie. scottish cup, league cup or challenge cup.
You will gain points from all league games.
There will be two footiepicks seasons during the normal season.
The first season will run from the first league game of the season until christmas.
The second season will run from the first league game in January until the end of the season.
There is a maximum of 8 teams in each division.
There is a minimum of 4 teams in each division.
PROMOTION/RELEGATION RULES:
The winner of the second division will automatically go up into the first division.
The bottom two teams in the first division will play each other in a play-off on the league fixture after christmas.
The winner of that play-off will stay in the first division and the loser will be relegated into the second division.
OVERALL LEAGUE:
The overall league will have every player in it.
It will run for the whole season.
After the first, second and third divisions have played an average of 30 games (date will be given) the league will finish and split.
The team at the top will win the league. If any teams are joined on points they will play a head to head play-off each week unitl someone wins and gets the higher position. The points gained in this play-off will not be added to the league table.
This will then go into two small competitions. Called the end of the season cup. (See below)
END OF SEASON CHAMPIONS CUP:
There will be 7 or less teams in each group.
These groups will be decided on their finishing positions in the overall league.
Depending on how many teams there are this will decide how many teams go out from each group every week. The team(s) with the lowest score that week will go out.
Rules that could change in the near future are.
If there are 8 teams in two or more divisions then a play off will be played too see who goes up and who comes down. ie. the bottom team in the first will automatically come down, 6th and 7th in the first division will play in the play-off, winner stays up, loser goes down.
For promotion, the winner of the second division will automatically go up and 2nd and 3rd will play in a play-off, winner goes up, loser stays down.
